Welcome to VRA Resettlement Trust Fund
The VRA Resettlement Trust Fund was set up by a Trust Deed promulgated on 22nd July 1996, the main principals being the Volta River Authority and the then Ministry of Mines and Energy. Per the Agreement, VRA is to contribute the Cedi equivalent of US$500,000.00
The Organizational Structure of the Trust Fund
At the apex is the Board of Managing Trustees made up of fifteen (15) members, presided over by a chairman.
Below the Board of Trustees is the Secretariat responsible for the day-to-day administration of the fund, by implementing the policies of the Managing Trustees.
The Secretariat is headed by the Executive Director, who is assisted by members of staff.
The Board of Managing Trustees
The Trust Fund is administered by a Board of Managing Trustees responsible for formulating policies and approving decisions that lead to the achievement of the objectives of the Trust Fund.
They are accountable to the Minister of Energy and the Chief Executive Officer of the VRA. They present annual reports to them at the Trust Fund’s Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
The Secretariat
The Secretariat of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund is responsible for implementing all the decisions of the Managing Trustees.
It is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the Trust Fund.
The Secretariat at present is composed of:

The Executive Director
The Executive Director who heads the secretariat oversees the day-to-day administration and management of the Trust Fund. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing all the policy decisions of the Managing Trustees and also interfaces directly with the resettlement communities and other stakeholders. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Managing Trustees.
Departments
The Secretariat of the Trust Fund has three departments, Administration, Technical, Finance, which are headed by officers individually responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities of the Trust Fund in their respective areas. They report directly to the Executive Director.
Support Staff
The support staff comprises of drivers, security men and a cleaner. They carry out their respective duties and report directly to the Administrator.
